OUR APPROACH

Professional learning that starts in your classroom.

Short, practical topics built around the work you already do. Every idea is something you can try with next week’s lesson.

  1. 01

    Learn from real teaching tasks

Every topic starts from something teachers already do: planning a lesson, writing a quiz, supporting a learner who is stuck. You practise on next week’s work, not a made-up example.

  2. 02

    Practise in your own context

Bring your curriculum, grade, subject and classroom. AI is only useful when it understands what you teach and who you teach, so that context comes first in every activity.

  3. 03

    Keep professional judgement central

AI produces drafts. Teachers decide what is accurate, appropriate and worth using. The Academy builds the habit of reviewing, adapting and sometimes rejecting what AI suggests.

  4. 04

    Learn alongside colleagues

Professional learning sticks when it is discussed. Topics include prompts to compare drafts, share adaptations and agree common expectations with the people you teach with.

HOW EVERY TOPIC WORKS

Explore. Try. Review. Teach. Reflect.

Each topic follows the same five-step cycle, so learning moves from an idea to a reviewed resource to a lesson you have actually taught.

  1. 1

    Explore

Start with one real teaching task and the idea behind it.

  2. 2

    Try

Practise with your own grade, curriculum and learners.

  3. 3

    Review

Check the draft for accuracy, fit and suitability.

  4. 4

    Teach

Use the reviewed resource with your class.

  5. 5

    Reflect

Notice what worked and decide what to change next time.

PATHWAYS

A clear route, whatever your role.

Suggested sequences. Start wherever is most useful, but AI foundations and responsible AI help everyone.

WAYS TO LEARN

On your own, with colleagues or as a school.

The same topics work in different settings. Tell us what suits you and we will help you plan it.

Individual teachers

On your own

Read a topic, try the practice task with your next lesson and keep your notes. A good way to start before involving colleagues.

Subject teams

With your department

Work through a topic together, compare the drafts you each generate and agree what good review looks like in your subject.

Schools and school groups

As a school cohort

A planned sequence of sessions for a group of teachers, with classroom tasks between sessions and time for reflection.

FOR SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL GROUPS

Bring Spark Academy to your staff.

A school cohort works best when it is connected to real priorities. We plan sessions around your curriculum, timetable and the workflows your teachers want to improve, with time between sessions to try ideas in class.

How schools adopt SparkSchool
  1. 01

    Agree the focus

Choose the teachers, subjects and teaching workflows that matter most this term.

  2. 02

    Start with foundations

Build a shared understanding of AI, review and responsible use across the group.

  3. 03

    Practise between sessions

Teachers try tasks with their own classes and bring drafts and reflections back to discuss.

  4. 04

    Review and extend

Look at what worked, agree shared expectations and decide on next steps, including certification.

A few things
you might be wondering.

Who is Spark Academy for?
Teachers, heads of department, coordinators and school leaders who want to use AI thoughtfully in their teaching work. You do not need any technical background. Parents and home educators are welcome to use the reading and practice tasks too.
Do I need a SparkSchool account?
You can read the Academy topics without an account. Many practice tasks are designed around SparkSchool workflows, such as the lesson planner and assessment tools, but the ideas apply to any AI tool your school has approved.
How much does it cost and when are sessions?
We do not publish dates or fees here, because sessions are planned with each teacher, school or group. Contact the team and we will share the current options for your context.
Is Spark Academy an accredited qualification?
No. Spark Academy is professional learning designed by SparkSchool AI. The teacher certification is issued by SparkSchool AI to recognise completed learning and a reviewed portfolio. It is not a government, board or university qualification.
Can my whole school take part?
Yes. Schools can discuss a cohort for a group of teachers, with sessions planned around your curriculum, timetable and priorities. Leaders often start with the AI leadership topic so they can support staff well.
