1. Overview

SparkSchool AI ("SparkSchool", "we", "us") builds AI tools that help teachers plan lessons, build assessments, and run their classrooms. This policy applies to our marketing website at sparkschool.ai and our platform at app.sparkschool.ai (together, the "Service").

Our Service is built for teachers and school staff. We know that the materials teachers create often involve students, so we've written this policy to be equally clear about how we handle account data and how we handle the content you generate.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways:

• Account information you give us directly — name, work email, school name, role, and curriculum board when you register, book a demo, or contact us.
• Content you create — the topics, grade levels, and instructions you enter to generate lesson plans, quizzes, worksheets, and other materials, along with the outputs SparkSchool AI produces.
• Usage data collected automatically — pages visited, tools used, device and browser type, and approximate location, gathered through cookies and analytics tools (see our Cookie Policy).

We do not require students to create their own SparkSchool AI accounts. Where a school integrates class rosters or student names into generated materials, that information is provided and controlled by the teacher or school, not collected directly from students by us.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating your requested content.
• To personalise your experience — for example, remembering your curriculum board and grade levels.
• To communicate with you about your account, product updates, and — where you've opted in — educational resources.
• To monitor for misuse, keep the Service secure, and comply with legal obligations.
• To understand aggregate usage patterns so we can prioritise what to build next.

4. AI & Content Generation

When you use a SparkSchool AI tool, your prompt and any supporting text are sent to our AI infrastructure — including third-party model providers under contract with us — solely to generate your output. We do not use your prompts or the content you generate to train our own models or third-party foundation models.

Generated content is yours. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated material for accuracy before using it with students, as outlined in our Terms of Service.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these situations:

• With service providers who host our infrastructure, process payments, or power AI generation — bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
• With your school, where your account is provisioned as part of a school-wide deployment.
• Where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to affected users.

6. Children's & Student Data

SparkSchool AI is designed for use by teachers and school staff, not directly by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from individuals under 18. Where student names or performance data appear inside teacher-generated materials (for example, a class analytics view), that data is entered and controlled by the school under its own data protection obligations to parents and students.

7. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel, and we conduct regular reviews of our security practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 90 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings, or by contacting us using the details below.

10. International Users

SparkSchool AI is based in India and primarily serves schools in India, though our Service is available internationally. Where you access the Service from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate, under appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify registered users by email or through an in-app notice before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
