What we noticed
A lot of homework is still done on paper. Teachers had to read every page by hand before they could give feedback, and handwritten work could not be reviewed alongside typed submissions.
What we changed
Students can now photograph worksheets and notebook pages and hand them in from the student portal, and teachers can upload work collected in class. SparkSchool reads the handwriting, marks any word it cannot read as [illegible], and reviews the work against your rubric or marks to prepare strengths, next steps, suggested scores and feedback.
What it means for you
You start from a ready draft instead of a pile of paper. Open the review in the teacher portal or the Chrome extension’s grading side panel, compare it with the page, adjust it and submit. Only the scores you submit are recorded.
