Notice the person behind the work
Before starting another task, take a moment to name how the day has felt. Reflection does not need to become another assignment: a short note about one challenge and one positive moment can be enough.
Make a deliberate pause
Choose a brief mindfulness activity that feels comfortable. Notice your surroundings, release tension in your shoulders or sit quietly for a moment. The point is to give yourself space between demands.
Build emotional awareness
Reflect on a classroom interaction: what happened, how you felt and what you might try next time. EQ learning can provide language and prompts for thinking about those experiences.
Keep learning manageable
Choose one useful idea to explore rather than trying to change every part of your teaching at once. Bring it into a real lesson, reflect on what happened and discuss it with a colleague.
Make space in the workday
Use the EQ, learning and mindfulness zone alongside your preparation tools. It offers a place for general wellbeing practices and professional growth; teachers should also have access to appropriate support from their school.
